Report
Based on two principles- cube and cross- simple monumental sculpture is placed on the slope above the street level as a view point from Národní street. The cross with its symbolism of suffering but also of help and hope makes all six sides of the irregular cube. Intention of the scheme was to enable all citizens to take actively part in creation of the memorial and thus in a symbolic way express their opinion or cope with the totaliarian past, express their reverence to the victims and create lasting reminder of totalitarian regime. Cutting out the simply designed volume would be executed by the citizens themselves eventually helped with advice from the professional stonemason.
