Report
Competition aim was reconstruction and conversion of existing buildings of the former watermill to the gallery of modern art to house both permanent insalation of Kupka´s paintings and temporary exhibitions of paintings and sculptures. Design in two versions inserts new lift into the centre of the plan to connect all exhibition spaces in various levels. Shaped as a tower and topped with galss cubic roof elevator shaft makes sort of a trade mark of the gallery. The coutryard is used for open air exhibitions of sculptures in one version, in the second makes reserve to house eventual extention of exhibition spaces in form of a simple unobtrusive cubic volume centered on optimal top quality light in the space.
